Let’s face it, flying these days isn’t exactly a top tier experience but it does have it bright spots. Chief among them is the expanding alcohol options that the various carriers offer.
Interesting, I have not seen these yet, but will try when I do. I don’t often care for canned still wines- bubbles work better for me- but always up for trying more brands and seeing improvements in that sector.
Totally - neither myself or Dallas are canned wine afficionados, though I do appreciate how far the category has come in recent years (single servicing boxed wine, too!) Compared to bottled wines, they're still their own category, their own experience where the quality and profile isn't quite what bottled wines are. But especially on a flight, where the pickings are slim, these can be really, really enjoyable.
Totally agree, the quality will get to where it will but I don’t think it will ever be like bottled or boxed wine quality- we’ll see though. I think they serve a purpose and are useful on a beach, by a pool, etc. where a bottle isn’t safe or realistic and boxed wine is too bulky. I have to say I would love to see more boxed wine options from wineries instead of canned wines, but that is just me thinking out loud!
