What Are We Drinking? (Breasts and Eggs Edition, 11/25/2024)

Hemp Seltzer/Mocktals, Indian Chenin Blanc, and a 99-point Syrah!

This was recorded waaay back in early October, alongside this past week's podcast episode! We’ll reume chronicling my (Dave’s) WSET Level 3 drinking next week, but for now, let’s take a trip down memory lane….

DALLAS DRANK:

DAVE DRANK:

You can read the full list of 11 wines here. But here is also a few highlights:

  • 2023 Nashik, Sula Vineyards, Chenin Blanc, India

  • Jaffurs 2017 Upslope Syrah (99 points!) The 2017 is sold out, but every vintage is a seriouly great expression of Cali Syrah. My all time favorite, in fact.

  • 2016 Vin Gris de Cigare Rose, Bonny Doon, Central Coast, California - One of the final wines released by Bonny Doon while still owned by founder Randall Graham. So another one that you can’t purchase anymore. BUT, I wanted to spotlight this to showcase that many roes CAN age! Try older roses so long as no one is charging you obscene prices for them, and susprise yourself!
