Our Most EPIC Livestream to Date, Plus 2 New Kids on the Block
And one last Livestream scheduled for next week, before the Thanksgiving weekend hits!
Just Press Play on the Extended Edition of “Return of the King” and this Livestream Episode at the Same Time….
Mother of god, I joked on social media that we probably couldn’t keep a second Livestream with comic creator Richard Fairgray under 3 hours. Richard took this to heart and came HARDCORE with 2 bottles of wine, ready to go the distance!
We went 4 HOURS AND 11 MINUTES!!! Dallas had to bail 2.5 hours in, but we had fellow comic media guru Blake Thomas Morgan of
join us halfway through to keep us all chugging along (both the liquids and the chat) until we soared past hour. f***ing. FOUR.I gotta say, though, it’s a zany, entertaining chat. We kind-of talk about the comic - Richard’s love letter to living in Hollywood and all the deranged, debauched, and droll characters there, Haunted Hill Volumes 1-2 - and kind-of talk about the wines we paired with it, but this converstaion was never really in our control, folks. Richard has life anecdotes galore to make the sturdiest amongst us laugh out loud, squirm, and grimace in equal measure. And once it became a 4-way with Blake, all bets were off.
I REALLY didn’t want to chapter this f***er, but…sigh…I did. So you can jump to any header you find interesting and skip the rest. Here the whole messy thing be:
Two NEW Kids on the Block!
We also got to chat with two creators who were brand new to us - Julius Freeman and Anthony Gambino, who have a phenomenal looking new 80-page graphic novel called VIGILANT FURY.
Anglea Peretz seems like just a normal girl, out having a good time, but when she’s kidnapped by human traffickers, she proves to be much more than the kidnappers bargained for!
We absolutely adored this book. Think TAKEN or JOHN WICK but with a kick-ass female protagonist. The inkwash art by Anthony is simply stellar, and the story by Julius is perfectly paced with creative action/thriller moments throughout.
They’re even offering a custom ART COMMISSION TIER for only $75!!! That’s a steal for any original piece of art, and Anthony’s bring the goods. You can bet it won’t be this affordable the next time around.
Plus, Dallas got to pair their book with a Sicilian wine that even Anthony - a Sicilian! - had never heard of! (*finger lick*, *touch*, *sizzle*)

One Last Livestream Before the Thanksgiving Weekend
But it’s a special one!
GRANITE STATE PUNK is my hand’s down favorite comic from
and his . And from what I’ve heard, it’s one of the nearest and dearest to Travis’ heart, too. A love letter to the punk genre and the Granite State (New Hampshire), this comes across as deeply personal story, but with some crazy fun hooks and PERFECTLY suited art by Patrick Buermeyer.Join us Tuesday, 11/21, 5pm PT/8pm ET for aLivestream chat about the series, why it means so much to Travis, and of course, what friggin’ wines we pair with such a hard rockin’ comic!
