Whew, it has been a WEEK, folks.

First up, is the full recording of last week’s live stream - our very first! - with writer/self-publishing icon

. We have now added detailed notes in the video description, chaptered the whole friggin’ thing, and man, listen to Russell go, he is such an amazing, authentic speaker these days.

I also talked about a limited, alternate comic cover Russell DREW for me! Yes! He’s also an artist in his own right, though he doesn’t banner-wave this very often. He told me “no” twice when I inquired about drawing a cover, then randomly shot an image into my inbox one Monday morning saying “Okay, I lied, I got inspired by watching Landscape With Invisible Hand so here you go.”

Topel’s 2016 Alta Orsa Proprietary Red Blend

I managed to snag this on sale for $30, but the SRP is $95! It’s a Napa Cab blend, so these don’t come affordable anymore unless you spot the sale.

(If you’re doing this on a budget, I’d actually recommend Trader Joe’s “Cabernet Franc vs. Cabernet Sauvignon” wine. Another blend of French varietals that have found their place in Cali, and exhibit a complexity you’d be hard-pressed to find in either as single varietals.)

I’ve been noticing a resurgence of unoaked red wine from Spain and Portugal these days. Honestly, I’m loving the trend. They’re not always my bag, but I appreciate experiencing these varietals in their “pure” state of aromas and flavors.
